Sihon King of the Amorites

I sent messengers out of The Wilderness - to Sihon King of Heshbon with Words of Peace saying

Let me pass through thy land - I will go along by the high way

I will neither turn to the right hand - nor to the left.

Thou shalt sell me food for money - that I may eat and give me water for money that I may drink only I will pass through on my feet

As Children of Esau dwell - in Seir and the Moabites that dwell in Ar did to me until I shall pass over Jordan into The Land that God giveth us.

Sihon King of Heshbon would not let us pass by him - for God hardened his spirit and made his heart obstinate that he might deliver him into thy hand as appeareth this day.

God said to me Behold - I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess that thou mayest inherit his land. Then Sihon came out against us he and all his People to fight at Jahaz.

God delivered him before us and we smote him and his sons and all his People.

We took all his cities at that time and utterly destroyed the Men and Women and the little ones of every city we left none to remain: Only the cattle we took for a prey to ourselves and the spoil of the cities that we took.

From Aroe that is by the brink of the river of Arnon and from the city that is by the river even to Gilead there was not one city too strong for us God. God delivered all to us:

Sons of Hebrews sent messengers to Sihon King of the Amorites - saying Let me pass through thy land we will not turn into the fields or into the vineyards we will not drink of the waters of the well but we will go along by the King's high way until we be past thy borders.

Sihon would not suffer sons of Hebrews to pass through his border.

Sihon gathered all his People together - and went out against Hebrews into The Wilderness he came to Jahaz and fought against sons of Hebrews.

Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty Man of valour and he was the son of Gilead begat Jephthah.

Gilead's wife bare him sons his wife's sons grew up and they thrust out Jephthah and said to him Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house for thou art the son of a strange Woman.

Then Jephthah fled from his brethren and dwelt in the land of Tob and there were gathered vain Men to Jephthah and went out with him.

It came to pass in process of time that Children of Ammon made war against Hebrews.

When Children of Ammon made war against Hebrews the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:

They said to Jephthah Come and be our Captain that we may fight with Children of Ammon.

Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead Did not ye hate me and expel me out of my father's house?

Why are Ye come to me now when ye are in distress?

Elders of Gilead said to Jephthah Therefore we turn again to thee now that thou mayest go with us and fight against Children of Ammon and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.

Jephthah said to the elders of Gilead If ye bring me home again to fight against the Children of Ammon and God deliver them before me shall I be your head?

The elders of Gilead said to Jephthah God Be Witness between us if we do not so according to thy words.

Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead

The People made him head Captain over them Jephthah uttered all his words before God.

Jephthah sent messengers to the King of Children of Ammon saying What hast thou to do with me that thou art come against me to fight in My Land?

King of Children of Ammon - answered to the messengers of Jephthah Because Hebrews took away My Land when they came up out of Egypt from Arnon even to Jabbok and Jordan now therefore restore those lands again Peaceably.

Jephthah sent messengers again to the King of Children of Ammon:

Said to him Thus saith Jephthah Hebrews took not away The Land of Moab nor the Land of Children of Ammon:

When Hebrews - came up from Egypt and walked through The Wilderness.

Then Hebrews sent messengers to King of Edom saying Let me I pray thee pass through thy land King of Edom would not hearken thereto.

In like Manner they sent to Kings of Moab he would not consent an Hebrews abode.

Then they went along through The Wilderness and compassed The Land of Moab and

Came By The East Side of The Land of Moab - and pitched on the other side of Arnon but

Came not within the border of Moab for Arnon was the border of Moab.

Hebrews sent messengers - to Sihon King of Amorites the King of Heshbon.

Hebrews said to him Let us pass - we pray thee through thy Land into My Place.

Sihon trusted not Hebrews to pass through his coast - Sihon gathered all his People together and pitched in Jahaz and fought against Hebrews.

God delivered Sihon and all his People - into the hand of Hebrews and they smote them so

Hebrews possessed all The Land of Amorites - the inhabitants of that country. ie: all of Egyptian Lands to Hebrews

They possessed all the coasts of the Amorites - from Arnon even to Jabbok

From The Wilderness even to Jordan.

God of Hebrews hath dispossessed the Amorites - from before his People Hebrews and shouldest thou possess it?

Hebrews smote him with the edge of the sword - and possessed his land from Arnon to Jabbok even to The Children of Ammon: for the border of The Children of Ammon was strong.

Hebrews took all these cities - Hebrews dwelt in all cities of the Amorites in Heshbon and in all the villages thereof.

For Heshbon was the City of Sihon King of the Amorites - who had fought against the former King of Moab and taken all His Land out of his hand even to Arnon.

Now rise up said I and get you over the brook Zered.

We went over the brook Zered.

The space that we came from Kadeshbarnea until we were come over the brook Zered was thirty and eight years until all the generation of the Men of war were wasted out from among the host as God sware to them.

For indeed The hand of God was against them to destroy them from among the host until they were consumed.

When all the Men of war - were consumed and dead from among The People.

The Land had rest forty years.
