1832 - Gosford Area Population 300. Point Frederick put forward as the name of the town. Governor Gipps changed name to Gosford to Honour The Earl of Gosford.

1834 - Richard Jones granted the land at Erina. Government mistakes and errors with Title Deeds then Thomas Thompson bought the land. Heavily timbered with trees of gigantic size. Some tree stumps were hollowed and used as sheds and temporary homes.

1836 - Terrigal - settler John Gray arrived called his property Tarrygal an Aboriginal word meaning place of little birds.

1868 - Building Boom took the much hardwood to Sydney.

1884 - Brooklyn named for a town in Netherlands called Breucklin when a 100 acre grant of land subdivided.
